Welcome to Sweet-As, handmade tasmanian delectable devilish rock candy! We - Sharon Phelps and George Smith - launched Sweet-As in 2006, after spending 5 years in other Australian states, learning the fine art of rock candy production! We are passionately committed to producing a range of high quality Tasmanian rock candy products and to engaging directly with our customers in responding to their needs. Our candy product range continues to grow as we receive requests from our customers.
We have just returned from France where we spent some time training a lovely French couple in the art of candy making and helping them to set up their business. They are just starting on their amazing journey into the confectionery world and all its glory! We also spent lots of time learning how to use some factory machines which were fun to master.
Although we are based in southern Tasmania, we also tour to regional events and agricultural shows around Tasmania and make all our rock candy, and lollipops in our specially designed mobile kitchen—a state of the art self-contained vehicle with public viewing areas on both sides, rock candy making is very entertaining! We are enjoying sharing our expertise and quality products with locals and visitors and we are proud to be creating a unique Tasmanian product range.
In 2022, you can find our candy in many places in Tasmania, including Macq 01 Hotel, Henry Jone Art Hotel, Hobart airport, Launceston airport, Tassal Salmon shop Salamanca and more places.

by buying Tassie lollies! A percentage from every ‘tassie devil’ box sold goes to the “Tasmanian Devil Appeal”, a not for profit research trust run through the University of Tasmania dedicated to supporting these unique and devilish little animals. We can all make a difference! And the devilish taste is delicious …
